Support Local - Mummy's Little Treasures Market

The mother of all ideas

Kristy Moore founded Mummy’s Little Treasures in 2017 and late last year her hard work paid off on the occasion of her first market. As hinted at by its title, the Mummy’s Little Treasures Market sells products for children, more specifically newborns to ten year olds. Stall holders have the opportunity to showcase new products and services or to sell on their pre-loved clothes and lightly used goods. Kristy has tried and tested many of the new products on sale and is keen to recommend them to others. Due to the size of the event and its niche market, Mummy’s Little Treasures Market is a great event for local traders to build and promote their business. In bigger markets, these businesses are likely difficult to spot amongst a wider variety of stalls and it is

probably less profitable for them.

A market for the Macedon Ranges and surrounds

The inaugural market kicked off in Macedon in August 2018 and there are follow up markets booked for Bacchus Marsh and Bendigo in May and July. Kristy is currently organising venues in Malmsbury, Ballarat and Sunbury for the latter half of this year. The varying locations means everyone in the region will have the chance to either promote their business or visit as a customer. Kristy aims to find venues that can accommodate at least 30 stalls, so that the businesses involved, as well as the customers attending, make the most of their time and money.

More than just a market

Kristy moved to the Macedon Ranges in September of 2014. Whilst she is not a long term resident, the nature of her business means that she has been able to make many connections in the local communities, which she thoroughly enjoys. Kristy is the founder and sole trader of Mummy’s Little Treasures, (although she does have one six year old employee who is her helper at the market). As a mum herself, Kristy also saw the worth in having a market that catered for the little visitors. Face painting and other activities are on offer for the kids whilst the parents peruse the stalls. This has been so successful that Mummy’s Little Treasures Market has been nominated for a What’s On 4 Kids 2019 Award. Kristy shares that the most rewarding part of running this business is that she is able to help fellow entrepreneurs to “grow their audience and customer base”. We hope to see you at the next market for some fun, great shopping and to support our local business people!
